Gold Impressions History

Cynthia and Robert Wallace moved to Wenatchee, WA. in April of 1991.

Cynthia has a broad background in the jewelry field. She graduated in 1984 from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL with a BS in Geology. She decided to accept an apprentice opportunity with a master goldsmith in Central Oregon to learn the talent of making fine jewelry. She then furthered her knowledge by working in management for a major jewelry chain for 4 years before opening her own company with her husband and partner Robert.

Cynthia has worked in the jewelry business 20 years. The influence of her geology background comes out strongly in her unique designs. Her degree has provided her with knowledge of gemstones and ideas to implement into jewelry.

In her Topo Gold pieces, a resemblance to a 3-Dimensional topographic map is evident. She took this idea one step further and came up with Linear Topo Gold where the technique is similar but has a more defined direction and softer look. The Topo Gold is a copyright design and is trademarked.

The designs done by GI use a variety of colored gems, diamonds, pearls, 14kt and 18kt gold.
Cynthia and Robert do all of their own designs, waxes, alloying casting, setting, and finish work themselves. GI does lost wax casting or fabrication of the metals to create their look.
GI has shown at Concepts Gallery in Carmel, CA., along with creating custom pieces for clients. GI also competes in international jewelry competitions for design and manufacturing of fine pieces.

Their work is an investment of time, energy, and love in the form of metals and gems. We truly hope we can make a lasting Gold Impression on you!
